Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the Android app Top5, package com.ghsong.top_apps_widget.

1. What the Usage Access permission reads

The app picks the five apps you used most recently and shows them in a home-screen widget. This requires Android's Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS) permission, which you must enable yourself in system settings. The app reads when apps moved to and from the foreground, when the screen turned off, and the package name, display name and icon of the apps involved. These events are turned into per-app usage time and a ranking on your device and are never transmitted. The app cannot and does not access the contents of other apps.

2. Data stored only on your device

The top-five package names with their usage time, the last update time, your period, refresh and language settings, and which pass you own (monthly or yearly subscription, or lifetime pass) are stored on your device only. They are not linked to any account and are deleted when you uninstall the app.

3. Payments (Google Play)

The app is free for 7 days after installation; after that a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime pass, is required. Payments, renewals and cancellations are handled by Google Play Billing. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel anytime in Google Play's subscription settings. Your payment method and billing details are processed by Google; the app never receives them. The app only receives which pass you own and the purchase token needed to confirm it, and does not send these anywhere (there is no developer server). See the Google Privacy Policy.

4. Not collected

No analytics, crash reporting, advertising or advertising IDs. No location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or external storage access. No sign-in.

5. Other permissions declared

com.android.vending.BILLING and INTERNET are required by the Google Play Billing library and are used only to buy passes and confirm purchase and subscription status — usage data is never sent this way. RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, FOREGROUND_SERVICE, WAKE_LOCK and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE are required by WorkManager to refresh the widget periodically and keep that schedule after a restart.

6. Third parties

No data is shared with third parties. The only external SDK is the Google Play Billing library.

7. Deleting data

Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored. You can also clear its storage in Android Settings and revoke Usage Access at any time in Settings > Apps > Special app access > Usage access. A purchased pass (an active subscription or the lifetime pass) can be restored after reinstalling with "Restore purchase".

8. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
